January 18, 2024 – Post 25’s First Dance-Pizza Party Details

Greetings!

This Thursday, January 18, 2024, we will launch our Thursday Rock’n Roll Dance-Pizza Party series. Since “Create A Pizza” is every Thursday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, we thought, why not bring in our collection of Rock’n Roll and Love Song recordings and have a classic, high school-like Dance”!

Our Dance-Pizza Party starts at 5 pm and will Rock’n Roll on to 7:30 pm.

Each week we will have a different playlist from different eras of music we all grew up with. This Thursday’s playlist will feature Rock’n Dance Music and Love songs from 1964 into the ’70s.

We’ll also have special effect lighting!

The music plays from the iTunes program setup on the PC that runs the big screen monitor in the Lounge. (no 45 records) There will be 3 to 4 songs with a strong dance beat, followed by a soft love song. Scott Teeters will be chaperoning the dance at one of the Bar’s high-top tables.

Couples! What’s “Your Song”? Or a favorite song you’d like to hear? Let Scott know and he will work the tune into a future dance.

And to juice the mood, each week the Bar will have an era-specific “Cocktail Special”! This Thursday’s music theme will be from 1965 into the 1970s, so our Classic Cocktail Special will be the Tequila Sunrise! (You remember those, right?)

So, this Thursday come hang out at Post 25, have a pizza, enjoy the music, dance, and have a Tequila Sunrise!

QUEEN OF HEARTS UPDATE!!!

We packed’m in last Friday night and sold a total of $750 in tickets! Our winner, 1st Vice Commander Pete Ruiz, pulled a number card, won $100, and donated back $50. So the Queens Board rolls on and this Friday’s Winning Payout will be… $14,247!!!

Tickets will be available Friday evening before the 8:00 pm drawing, as well as at the Bar. You have to play to win and it only takes one ticket!

Our Wednesday Menu Is Changing…
FOR THE BETTER!

Wednesday is “Wing Night”. Since Post 25 has a Smoker, the Sons Commander, Jake, and Historian, John will fire up the Smoker around 3 am so that we can add “Smoked Brisket Sandwiches” to the Wednesday night Mess Hall Kitchen menu. Bring your appetite!

BRAVO David Morin!

Last Saturday’s Elvis Tribute show was outstanding! Before the show started we had to bring in more tables for more seating. The Dining Hall was packed. David performed for over 2 1/2 hours and had everyone cheering and dancing!

With Sloppy Joes, fries, and cole slaw for dinner and a great show, we had smiles everywhere!

THIS JUST IN! Our Entertainment Director Jean Pfeiffer has booked a return engagement with David Morin for March 8, 2025, and our New Year’s Eve Party, on December 31, 2025!

And a big THANKS to Chet & Rose Marie Heath for introducing Davis Morin to Post 25!

See you at Post 25 this Thursday and Friday, if not sooner.

God Bless America!

PS – We have LOTS coming up, so check our Events/Calendar Page!

Coming Up This Week at Post 25!

Greetings,

We have several NEW things coming up this week!

On Sunday the Mess Hall Kitchen will be serving up meatloaf dinner. Who doesn’t like meatloaf? And Randy Sullens will provide the Rock’n Roll Tunes.

Wednesday is Wing Night and we’re adding another delicacy… Smoked Brisket Sandwiches! Entertainment will be provided by Night Grooves.

Thursday night from 5 pm to 7:30 pm is our first Rock’n Roll Dance-Pizza Party. We’ll be rock’n the originals from the ’60s and ’70; fast dancing with some serious beat, and love songs! Plus, the Bar will be serving up a special classic ’70s mixed drink. Enjoy a Mess Hall pizza, and a ’70s cocktail, and dance, dance, dance!

Friday night is Fried Fish or Prime Rib for dinner and SNL Drive will play from 6 pm to 9 pm.

And by the way, since we did not have a Jack Pot Winner for our Queen of Hearts game, the new winning post is… $14,247.00! One strip of 6 tickets is $5.00; THREE strips are $10.00, and SEVEN strips are $20.00. To “win” you gotta play! Tickets are available any time at the Bar or on Friday night.

Saturday the Lake Country Cruisers Car & Bike Show will be from 11 am to 1:30. Burgers and cheeseburgers will be served from 12 noon to 2 pm.

Don’t forget, the Golf Scramble is on January 27, 2024. For details, CLICK HERE.

SNEEK PEEK for February!

In addition to our regular dining and entertainment events, on February 10, 2024, we are having our Valentine’s Day Dinner and Dance. Then on February 11, 2024, we are hosting our Super Bowl Party. Details to come. Everyone is invited to bring a covered dish, and, or a yummy dessert. Tie on the old feed bag and enjoy the Super Bowl game at Post 25!

See you all next time!

Post 25 is in need of some great Volunteers!

Greetings,

The American Legion (and all Veterans groups) are volunteer organizations. The Legionnaires, the Sons, and the Auxiliary plan fundraising and entertainment events to raise money for Vets and to cover overhead expenses.

The events are organized and staged by volunteers. The best way to get help with projects is to ask. So, we are listing our volunteer tasks with contacts on our new Volunteers Boards.

At Post 25’s front entrance, next to the Queen of Hearts update whiteboard there’s our new Volunteers Board. There’s a similar Volunteers whiteboard next to the Mess Hall kitchen counter just inside the south-side entrance.

Here’s what we need help with as of today…
