Post 25's Memorial Day Weekend Events |

Memorial Day weekend is here. It’s time for all of us to take time aside from our holiday activities and remember those who gave everything so that we can live FREE in the United States of America.

We invite you to join us on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 8 AM at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid to place flags on the tombstones of our Vets. Oak Hill Cemetery is just off Route 27 in Lake Placid. This is the same road on which the new Amazon facility is being constructed. If you have never put American flags on the graves of Veterans, it is a solemn experience every patriot should experience. Coffee and donuts will be provided.

A few announcements

Monday, May 26, 2025, is officially Memorial Day. Lake Placid, Florida American Legion Post 25 will have a special commemoration event starting at Noon. 2^nd Vice Commander Denise Williams has a commanding public speaking voice and will deliver a tribute to our Vets who served and those who gave all. Please come early!

You will not want to miss this!

Afterward, Post 25 will be serving “American food”, hamburgers, hot dogs, and cheeseburgers!

Also, we will be dedicating our new, second Keith Goodson mural! Lake Placid is known as the Town of Murals. As travelers driving south on Route 27 approach Lake Placid from Sebring, Post 25’s two big, beautiful murals will be the first murals travelers see as they enter our town.

* Rock ‘n Roll Saturday Nights! Typically, things are quiet on Saturday nights, but we’re going to change that. Starting Saturday, June 21, 2025, Post 25’s SONs will be hosting one or two Rock ‘n Roll Saturday Nights a month through the summer. Raisin’ Cain will Rock the House from 5-8 PM, with music from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.

* Post 25 Queen of Hearts Game – We had a winner on Friday, May 16, 2025. So, we have a new Queen of Hearts game that we’ll be playing through the summer months.

* Friday Night 50/50 and our FREE DINNER Raffle – Friday nights, Post 25 is the place to be. We will continue to provide entertainment and dinner throughout the summer months. You can have a great time, a good dinner, and drinks with friends. You can even go home with CA$H from our 50/50 and Queen of Hearts games. Each game has two runner-up Drink Tickets! Snowbirds will miss out!
