Post 25’s Entertainment Schedule for July 2025

Greetings!
Here is the July 2025 Entertainment Schedule! But first!

July 4th Picnic!!!

On July 4, 2025, Post 25 will host its annual July 4th Picnic from 11 AM to 8 PM.

Music: TWO BANDS! Calico from 2 to 5 pm and Randy Sullens from 5 to 8 PM.

Food: Commander’s Chicken Quarters on the BBQ, Smoked Brisket Sandwiches, Hot Dogs on the grill, and Ice Cream Floats. ($6.00, $8.00 “Spiked”)

Activities: Cornhole Tournament, Raffles, a 50/50, a Dunk Tank, and for the children, a 25 foot Water Slide, Face Painting, Clowns from the Lake Placid Clown College, and Balloons.

Bar Games: Chips Ahoy at 1 PM, and Queen of Hearts at 8 PM.

Happy Hour: 2 to 5 PM.

This Weekend! Three Nights of Solid Entertainment and Fun!

   Friday is the first day of summer 2025, and Post 25 in Lake Placid is kicking off the summer with THREE NIGHTS of entertainment!

Friday night, local favorite Jay Boree will perform from 6 to 9 PM. Jay’s mix of Pop, light Rock, and Country is a crowd favorite.

Saturday night is TIME TO ROCK! The popular local band Raisin’ Cain will rock the house from 5 to 8 PM, performing Rock music from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.

Then, on Sunday from 5 to 8 PM, the lovely and talented Lora Patton will sing the hits for you.

 

And, we have games, activities, and food.

Friday, starting at 1 pm, you can play Ships A’Hoy. The Queen of Hearts game goes off at 8 PM.

Saturday afternoon from 3 to 5 PM, there’s Post 25’s ROADKILL Party. “BINGO” crashes into “Cards”, and you win MEATS. We offer a 50/50 cash prize, great door prizes, lots of laughs, and fun!

We know Post 25’s patrons love to dance, so why not learn some NEW MOVES? Sunday afternoon, Post 25’s resident dance instructor, Gina, will be offering Merengue Dance Class, starting at 4 PM.

And lastly, getting hungry? The Post 25 Cafe can help. Friday evening, the Post 25 Cafe is serving Fish Fry and their usual full menu starting at 4:30 PM. Saturday burgers will be served from noon to 2 PM, and Sunday, the Kitchen will be open from 1 to 7 PM. 

Summer is finally here, it’s HOT, but you can have a
COOL time at Post 25 this weekend!

Rock and Roll Saturday – Meet the Band, RAISIN’ CAIN interview!

This Saturday night, American Legion Post 25 will kick off our Summer Rock and Roll shows.

The popular local band Raisin’ Cain will rock the house June 21, 2025, from 5-to-8 PM. Raisin Cain will perform Rock music from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.

It is summertime, it’s HOT, and it’s time to ROCK!

Meet “Raisin’ Cain”!

All of the band members grew up steeped in the music of the ’70s and ’80s. Raisin’ Cain typically performs almost every weekend. The band has been active for the past 13 years, since 2012, playing mostly locally in Highlands County and occasionally in the coastal areas.

From left-to-right, the Raisin’ Cain band members include: Steve Stutzman on keyboards; Jewels on vocals; Mike Tebo on lead guitar and vocals; Keith Barber on drums; and Eric Pardee on bass.

Combined, the members of Raisin’ Cain have been performing since the late ’70s.

Lead guitar player and vocalist, Mike Tebo, has played backup for Conway Twitty, the Beach Boys, Kitty Wells, Mo Bandy, and many others. Mike has also performed in a Neil Diamond Tribute band.

If you graduated from high school around 1972 (Where were YOU in 1972?), you are going to enjoy this. It’s not American Graffiti, it’s American Rock!

This Saturday night, from 5-to-8 PM! BE THERE!

SPECIAL NOTE: Last week was the Florida State American Legion Convention in Orlando. Special classes were offered to the attendees covering all things American Legion. Meetings for the Legionaires, the SONs, Legion Riders, and Auxiliary covered updates, awards, the nomination of State officers, voting, and the swearing in of new State officers.

But the real juice of the event was the donations from American Legion Posts all over Florida. The donation tally for the entire state was $163,078.00.

Think about it. This is money that average Americans pulled out of their pockets to help all the good causes the American Legion Family works for.

America is arguably the most generous nation in the world.
